About Us

Prairie State Plumbing & Heating, Inc. is a trusted union contractor proudly serving Springfield and Central Illinois with expert plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical, mechanical, ventilation, and site work services. Founded in 2005 by veteran plumber and steamfitter Jerry Judd, Prairie State began as a one-man operation and quickly expanded due to a growing demand for reliable, high-quality service.

In 2013, the company expanded further by merging with the well-respected Harney Electric, allowing Prairie State to offer full-service solutions to residential, commercial, and industrial clients under one roof.

Today, with a team of over 40 skilled professionals and affiliations with Locals 25, 34, 137, 193, 218, 477, and 965, Prairie State continues to grow through its commitment to quality craftsmanship, honesty, and integrity.

Restoring well-water service was provided professionally and promptly (on the heels of another company Not answering follow-up calls). A broken (frozen) well-pump was replaced, and trouble-shooting ensued as it was not functioning properly once replaced. Jordan worked hard at finding the cause, and championed it after investing his own time to figure it out, and reset the pump to function properly. He wrapped up the work by redesigning and repairing plumbing lines so this mishap would not be repeated, but could be avoided by some simple maintenance I could do. Much of the work was in a mud basement—old fruit cellar—tight and not very pleasant conditions. He trouble-shot a couple other minor issues, along with Steve helping, the 2nd day. There are truly not enough words of thanks to say for the great (albeit grungy) work that was done. His expertise applied repairs that I could not have done on my own, which restored water to my home, and left it functioning Better than it had been. I believe Jason reflects the principles of this company, which seems to operate with the old-fashioned, country values of helping out a neighbor in a reasonable, cost-effective manner. Will definitely call them for help with any future needs (that will hopefully be a lot more tidy)!

It was late in the day when we called and we really weren't expecting them to be able to make it for a few days; however, the crew was there bright and early the next morning accessing the situation. They ran into some issues with tree limbs blocking the lines and had to bring in special piece of equipment to resolve the issue. The owner himself showed up to assist and make sure everything was in order and done right. On top of the outstanding crew, the price was very reasonable for such a huge project and the work was done right. I would highly recommend Prairie State Plumbing and Heating. I have no complaints whatsoever. They are a great company to do business with.

they were prompt at 7am and very was good at repairing all my issues. anything I needed done extra wasn't an issue however much time it took it didn't matter so I ran out to Walmart while they were here and bought a shower spray attachment and they installed it too. the final cost was way less than what I had expected. very friendly ,professional, definitely go with them,
